Our wedding couple Mike and Maria loved the idea of the Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden from the moment they saw it and knew they wanted their wedding Guests to share it, too. What better welcome to Cape Town could they give them? We embarked on this journey with Mike and Maria to plan not only their Guests’ welcome, but also their Wedding the next day at the Cape Point Vineyards.

Living in London meant that we had numerous Skype sessions with the Couple but not enough ‘in-the-flesh’ chats – so when they came home for a visit, we made up for lost time. After days of site visits, lunches and supplier meetings we eventually parted again with a very clear vision for their Wedding celebration and couldn’t wait to have it all unfold for their special Guests.

Having planned a quick wine-tasting excursion before the welcome dinner, the Couple and their Guests arrived at The Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden anticipating a special evening. On arrival, they were given custom-made Maps of the Garden, beautifully designed by Kirstin Simone, which set out the Sculpture Garden routes and the various stops along the way.

On their way to the first stop, Guests enjoyed a Botanical Gin Bar and delicious canapés before branching off to explore the Garden a little more, all the way to the final stop. At the Pavilion the guests were lured in by the various live food stations and spreads that Slippery Spoon had laid out after months of planning with the Couple.

The acoustics of Gerry Liberty set the tone and echoed beautifully out onto the lawns where Guests had spilled out to enjoy the setting sun. Truly the most perfect welcome to South Africa!
