INKY STYLED SHOOT
To be unique in the Wedding and Events industry is a challenge to say the least however, that is just what the 2iC Team loves the most – a challenge! From the moment an all Black Inky Styled Shoot was discussed, we could think of nothing else…
The challenge then became how to create something that no one had seen before utilising elements readily available to all and sundry. The answer lay in the creation of an all-woman dream team, the ultimate collaboration of the best this industry has to offer. Each of the collaborators leaders in their specific fields jumped at the opportunity when approached. The idea of being able to create something never see before, the opportunity to let the creative juices flow where they had never before, to execute concepts that we had all been dreaming of our Clients to suggest – we had a team almost instantly chomping at the bit! The 2iC Team alongside, the teams from SA Weddings, Red Hot Events and Hiring and Joan Bloom hit the ground running and the concept was developed and moulded, lovingly sculpted into a living, breathing shoot.
Black was our theme for the day – usually a colour not associated with a wedding, we grabbed it swiftly and allowed it to influence all areas of the shoot. A colour not often known what to be done with, a colour that can be diluted and used to create moody versions of the colours we love most. The more we delved into the concept, the more creative we became with deep emerald greens with even deeper maroons flowing through the backbone of the shoot. Once we came across the venue, our idea became solid as a rock…
On a chilly Friday morning our teams descended on the Van Staden Retaining Systems Stone Yard on Winery Road in Somerset West, Cape Town. We got stuck into the set up for what was about be the most incredible Team effort we have had the privilege of being part of. After hours of weather report monitoring in the days before, the weather played ball and we got just want we needed – an overcast, breezy and moody day.
As the sun began to sink behind the beautiful heaps of raw rock on our magnificent site, we quickly grabbed the last few shots that the setting sun allowed. Drawing a close to the day we clinked our paper cups over flowing with ice cold Champagne and sighed a great sigh of satisfaction and excitement in anticipation of what this shoot was going to create in its aftermath… Until the next one…!
Into The Woods was the original concept however; over time it was developed into so much more. Adding in royal and ethereal elements along the way, we paired striking deep purples and elegant coppers and golds to round off the look in the forest.
If you’re planning on having a forest-like Wedding, look no further – all the inspiration you could want is right here!
